Wonder Festival 2026 [Summer] — official date and venue now confirmed by organizers.

The Most Important Date on Every Collector's Calendar

If you follow the figure world even casually, you already know that Wonder Festival is the event. Held annually at the Makuhari Messe convention center outside Tokyo, WonFes is the single largest gathering of figure manufacturers, sculptors, and garage kit creators on the planet. The summer edition draws enormous crowds and, more importantly for collectors worldwide, generates a avalanche of new scale figure and Nendoroid announcements that set the tone for the hobby through the rest of the year. Organizers have now officially confirmed the 2026 summer edition is a go, with preliminary details about participating manufacturers and garage kit table application windows already released. You can follow ongoing WonFes coverage and verified announcements through the official Wonder Festival website.

What to Expect from Good Smile Company, Max Factory, and Alter

The three heavyweights of the scale figure world — Good Smile Company, Max Factory, and Alter — are all expected on the exhibitor floor, and speculation is already running hot in collector communities about which franchises will receive new entries. Licensing activity over the past several months has pointed to a number of highly requested characters finally getting the scale figure treatment, and WonFes Summer is historically the venue where those reveals land with the most impact. Nendoroid announcements in particular tend to cluster around summer WonFes, making it prime territory for fans of the chibi-style collectibles. For a deeper dive into how major figure manufacturers approach multi-franchise reveals at events like this, the MyAnimeList WonFes coverage archives offer excellent historical context on how these announcements unfold. Garage kit creators also play a huge role — independent sculptors apply for table space months in advance, and some of the most creative and sought-after pieces at any WonFes come from those smaller, passionate makers rather than the big labels.
